How to set up Prosperity Theme Front Page

  1. Create a blank page and set it as Front Page. (in drafting view, go to Settings (gear icon) > Page > Template > (choose Front Page template under the options). https://d.pr/i/xsawu5 (also, set it as your “home page” by googling online how to set a page as your WordPress home page.)
  2. Now create your “sub pages” that should appear in the slide show: Go to page drafting view, then click on the gear icon, then click on Page > Tags, and then type in featured in the “add a new tag” entry box. https://d.pr/i/hCEIAY
  3. Next, for the same page, scroll down more under Settings > Page > Featured Image. Set the featured image to be whatever image you want to show up in the slideshow on your front page.
  4. Update/publish the page.
  5. Repeat 2 more times. Make sure to add a Featured Image, and tag it as “featured”.
  6. Then just open your home page and it should appear as a slideshow 🙂
  7. To edit buttons, add buttons on the pages individually and it’ll show up in the slideshow.
  8. To edit brief text and other blocks on the front page, go to Customizer: My Site > Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Front Page > Brief Text. https://wordpress.com/theme/prosperity/setup
